This Role is So UNLIKE IAN Ian Somerhalder as Miles Slade: Described by Powers as the most deranged and psychotic of all the assassins, therefore mad enough to rise through the ranks, the "crazy Texan kid" truly loves his job and is completely ruthless, coldblooded and without a conscience. Slade delights in senseless murder, killing a dog at one point purely for the sake of it and demonstrating no hesitation about killing innocents, which makes his almost fashion model-like appearance all the more disquieting. Slade smokes cigars, and uses his cigar cutter to take the trigger fingers of his victims before he kills them. Powers gives his odds at winning/surviving at 25/1, yet places him as an outsider who will nonetheless provide great entertainment. Even after he is badly burned when Harlow spits alcohol in his face just as he has lit a cigarette lighter, Miles manages to track down Lai Lai and Macavoy in a service station out of town, Macavoy convincing Lai Lai to spare the injured Miles before Powers detonates Miles's chip in revenge for Macavoy ruining a clean kill.
