After a stint on the WB drama Everwood and the recent movie Piranha 3D, he found himself up for two shows, Melrose Place and The Vampire Diaries. He chose the latter, he says, because his character, Jeremy, “was as messed up as possible in the head.” As for going through life with the same name and calling as his iconic grandfather, he says, “Luckily, I’ve got a generation gap between me and him. But more than anything it’s a little fuel in the fire.”
